Maria Endang Sumiwi MPH., Director General of Public Health of the Ministry of Health who is also as the General Chair of the 58th HKN in 2022.

The transformation of the health resilience system, particularly the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, is the third pillar of the program for changing the health system. Medela Potentia, with more than 42 years of experience in the industry, has the End-to-End competency that supports this pillar.

Medela Potentia's Strategic Role in Domestic Medical Device Resilience

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of Health, and the Deputy Minister of Health stopped by the Medela Potentia booth in Hall 3 during the HKN exhibition review session. On this occasion, they discussed the Medela Potentia's contribution to creating products with high Domestic Component Level (TKDN) values and the commitment to manufacturing medical equipment domestically.

Since introducing medical device items under the Stardec brand in 2011, Medela Potentia, through PT Djembatan Dua, has envisioned self-sufficiency in domestic products. Stardec products have been incorporated into the domestic medical device procurement process since the LKPP e-Katalog system for medical devices was launched in 2014 through several masks and gloves. There are currently 50 Stardec product items included in the e-Katalog, which will continue to increase for the upcoming years.

According to Mr. Edbert Orotodan, Director of PT Djembatan Dua, "the local medical device business is becoming active in boosting competitiveness because of the strong opportunity through government initiatives related to import substitution,"

Additionally, Medela Potentia is ready to enter the manufacturing business that produces medical devices supply. According to Mr. Krestijanto Pandji, President Director of Medela Potentia, the establishment of PT Deca Metric Medica (DMM) in 2020, which will focus on producing domestic medical devices, signaling the seriousness of entering the manufacturing market. To work with global medical device firms, the DMM plant is built to fulfill international quality requirements.

The Medela Potentia is ready to implement Presidential Instruction No. 6 of 2016 for the Acceleration of the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Industry. It is envisaged that the creation of PT Deca Metric Medica would both strengthen local medical device production and cut down on medical device imports, according to Mr. Krestijanto.
